National Older Persons Day

Oakdale Residential Home Celebrate International Older Persons Day - 01/10/19. The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year. On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106. The holiday was observed for the first time on October 1, 1991.This year we have celebrated with our family and friends and enjoyed tea and home-made cake while listening to our live singer the very talented Diane Moore. We also had an afternoon of reminisce and many families brought in photo albums of their loved ones.
